The idea took root with Kartik Panchal. The family would plant a tree on every birthday, and again on World Environment Day. No organisation, no name — just a shovel and a promise kept every year.
From ritual to reach
The count grew quietly into thousands. Many trees were planted; many more were gifted to people to plant and care for themselves. The goal was never the tree. It was the habit of caring for it.
When the city needed it
During the COVID-19 pandemic the foundation directed donations and support to underserved families across Ahmedabad — help given quietly, at the moment it mattered.
Beyond the tree
Books to government-school students. Fire-safety training for 300 orphaned children. Clay art for 100. Heat-stroke seminars through a record summer. Gau seva, five schools, and a day of devotion at a thousand-year-old temple.
53,000 and counting
Fifty-three thousand trees. A thousand books. Fourteen hundred children. And the same family ritual at the centre of it — still planting, every birthday.
